"Shooting Bigfoot" Exposed

As many people have already heard, the film "featuring" and documenting Rick Dyer's triumphant story of overcoming criticism and once and for all solving the Bigfoot mystery has turned out to be more of a mockumentary featuring Tom Biscardi, Dallas Gilbert and his Bigfoot buddy Wayne, as well as Rick Dyer. The official release can be found here:

Here, I'll save you the trouble.

“I don’t think an hour goes by in the day where I don’t think about Sasquatch,” divulges one aficionado. So begins Morgan Matthews’ rollicking foray into the obsessive, hoax-filled cult of Sasquatch. Using the in-the-trenches style of The Blair Witch Project, the film allows us to accompany the adventures of three Sasquatch search parties: socially awkward “master tracker” Ric Dyer; crotchety old guys Dallas and Wayne; and Tom Biscotti, perhaps the most devoted of the bunch, who has hunted Sasquatch unabatedly for 37 years. The teams tramp through the wooded unknown with tracking equipment and ample conviction in hand, the bipedal ape-like creature they seek seemingly just around every bend. As truth and fact tip into malarkey, nighttime hunts devolve into farcical displays of voodoo and comic stretches of the human imagination. A humorous look at perception gone off the rails, Shooting Bigfoot is a no-holds-barred plummet into folkloric lunacy. Justin Mah

As you can see, not quite the same picture Dyer painted. It's pretty funny they refer to Rick as being "socially awkward" considering what a normally outgoing individual he is on the Internet. Perhaps what they meant was that he is "awkwardly social".

One would think a history making event such as the discovery of a giant bi-pedal creature living behind a Home Depot in San Antonio, Texas would garner a bit more attention than a Canadian Documentary Film Festival.

So most people are thinking the obvious. The final nail in Bigfoot's coffin right? I'm not so sure. It's been my experience that snakes, worms, weasels, etc. even in human form, have a way of slithering their way out of sticky situations. Obviously this is not Rick Dyer's first go at this. And for some reason, he still managed to gather quite a bit of publicity, even though people were fully aware of his past transgressions. I'm certain there will still be a fair amount of Dyer cult followers adorning their aluminum foil hats, who will still believe his story.

See, his exit strategy was already set in place some time ago. I expect Rick to say something to the effect of Minnow Films took possession of the body, he has no idea what they've done with it, or why they left it out of the film. You see it's a big conspiracy, just like last time, and once again completely beyond his control. Of course Rick isn't going to be man enough to come out and say it was all a lie. He desires the attention far too much to do that. I wish he would prove me wrong, but I know he isn't going to. I mean he is the World's greatest Bigfoot tracker after all.

What about our good friends FBFB who backed Rick 100%? Do you think they will really close down shop as they promised to do? Of course not. You can expect to hear damage control from them any moment now. I'm sure they will play the part of the victim, stating how they were fooled by Dyer, and they are totally innocent. But if you are experts, how were you fooled to the extent of backing the story 100%? To be a victim it requires something bad happening to you that you had no control over. Otherwise it's called being an idiot. IF they were dooped, it was because they chose to put themselves in the situation. They chose to back a known hoaxer. Nobody forced them to do so. Of course they are not impervious to being fooled. They have obviously been fooled numerous times by the videos they have validated over the years as being authentic. While they may be experts at Internet and social media marketing strategies, they are absolute idiots when it comes to Bigfoot. They gave one of the biggest known hoaxers in the history of Bigfoot research the Researcher of the Year award. Based on one crappy video of a Bigfoot costume. How about giving it to Stan Courtney, or Jeff Meldrum, or even Cliff Barackman? Someone who actually went out and contributed something to the field? You want to know why they didn't? Because they don't know anything about Bigfoot research other than what they've read or seen posted on YouTube. How many actual outings do you think they've been on? Who did they learn from? They can draw a crowd, I'll give them that, but so could the ShamWow guy. Down in the south we call it "crawdadding" and we're getting ready to see a lot of it.

While we're on the subject, let's not forget another major Rick Dyer supporter. A person who should know better, but has recently shown their true colors. Chris Noel. Shame on you Chris Noel. You are so caught up in promoting your own personal agendas and playing favor to anyone willing to kiss or blow smoke up your ass that you are willing to ask, better yet demand, that someone outright LIE to the community. If you are only interested in the truth when it suits your own opinion, then how many other times have you lied or covered up the truth? Not only did Chris Noel ask Steve Kulls to lie, he has also bad mouthed many other researchers in this field, one of which I personally witnessed being Jeff Meldrum. Asking Dyer on his own Facebook page why he would post something that promoted Dr. Meldrum. Why not Chris? Because his views and opinions differ from your own? So what? It's called an opinion, and people are allowed to have them.

A real researcher allows the evidence to lead their direction. They do not dictate the evidence, nor do they ignore evidence that goes against what they wish to believe. You can wish Bigfoot is a giant psychic friendly furry giant who just wants to braid horse's manes and leave pretty bird feathers for you to find all you want, that doesn't make it true, nor does it have ANY evidence supporting it. And people who do not share that opinion or view are not the Devil nor the enemy. If you're not in this field to discover the truth, whether or not it lines up with what you want to believe or not, then you should seriously find another hobby.

  1. Excellent post Matt! Keep spreading the truth, sooner or later it's bound to catch on!

  2. Noel is the worst of the lot...pretending to be a real researcher when he is more of a hoaxer than even Dyer. Shame on you Chris. Once he started with the paranormal BS he was scratched off my list as a decent researcher and this only confirms it. I hope people put Noel with the crowd he belongs,Biscardi,Dyer,E.B(RIP),Newton-Perry,Williams etc.

  3. To me it all seems to be a money grabbing business scheme. Just follow the money trail. It tells you all and all the time. Noel writes fantasy books about fairy tales, Dyer wants to be seen as a cowboy in the movie industry. Todd Standing is another hoaxer trying to make money on his video clips and books, describing his fantasy world in Sylvania. OH, yes Melba Ketchup, remember she was housing 5 sasquatches in her backyard and is proving that sasquatch is actually a native American and deserves civil rights. Biscardi and his TV stunts.
I bet as soon as Sasquatch will get the American Citizenship all those people will apply for grants to have taxpayers pay for publishing their garbage.
Is there a website that shunts hoaxers and brand marks them in public forever? I am asking myself if this had a criminal intent from the beginning?
